My summary

After eleven years of coordinating criminal investigations, I was looking for a new challenge. Having a passion for technology and management I took up the challenge as CIO / CTO of a city police department of 400 end-users, in order to gain experience in corporate governance of IT, IT management in general and the daily operational coordination of the technology division. Therefore I am using different best practice frameworks like CobiT, Val IT & CGEIT (corporate governance of IT), Six Sigma (business process management), Togaf (enterprise architecture), ITIL (IT service management), MSP, Prince2 & PMBok (program & project management), ADKAR-Prosci (change management) and SFIA (HR for IT).

Beside an advanced police and detective education, I developed my technological skills with a bachelor’s degree of telecommunications at Groep T (Leuven, Belgium). I also hold an ICT Management certificate from the Vlerick Management School (Gent, Belgium) and I am ITIL Foundation certified (Kortrijk, Belgium). I am fluent in Dutch, Englisch, French and can explain myself in German.

Prior to my police career, I worked four year as a freelance journalist for Auto & Sport Magazine and I am a certified ski-instructor (IVSI – INTERSKI, Austria).

My core skills: analytical, rational, determined, entrepreneurial and result driven with the ability to troubleshoot in crisis situations, solve problems creatively and efficiently, take on new challenges, acquire new skills and learn fast.

My soft skills: listening, conflict handling, leadership and negotiation using MBTI, Big-5, Enneagram and ‘Kernkwadrant’.
